Jouw uitdaging
As an energy controller, you will be part of the “Infrastructure & Logistics Controlling Team” which focuses on finance and controlling topics at the Verbund site in Antwerp.

You will be working for the energy department at the site, and you will act as their main contact person for financial and controlling topics. You will be tied in in operational as well as strategic discussions to manage the financial impact of their operational activities and future investments.
The current energy and utility landscape at the site is quickly developing and directly affected by several initiatives that support the BASF Group to reach its sustainability targets. As an energy controller you will be contributing by translating these initiatives into financial models that ensure appropriate business steering.
Additionally, part of your working package will consist of providing management information on the financial development of the infrastructure activities towards our local management and to the management in our headquarters in Germany.
More specifically, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- You gain insight in the department’s operations and processes to provide support for short-term financial steering as well as mid-term strategic planning.
- You assure reliable financial information, which includes yearly budgeting, monthly reporting (month and year-end closing) of the department’s financial result and monthly forecasting.
- You analyze cost trends to identify cost drivers and jointly with the management team define actions to increase value and meet financial targets.
- You have a thorough understanding of underlying financial processes, so that you can drive initiatives to further optimize, simplify and digitalize where possible.
- Beyond that, you will be part of a committed controlling team at the Antwerp Verbund site that shares best practices and implements common solutions, striving to increase value for our internal partners.

- You have a master’s degree in finance, technical sciences, or relevant working experience in controlling.
- You have a hands-on approach, and you combine strong communicative and analytical skills to drive business decisions forward.
- You are an enthusiastic team player who can work independently, but also enjoys sharing experience with your colleagues.
- You challenge the status-quo, constantly looking for opportunities in cooperation with your stakeholders to improve efficiency and to add value.
- You have a good knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI,…) is a plus.
- A fluent knowledge of dutch or english, with willingness to learn dutch, required.
