Job Overview/Summary
The HR Manager will provide HR support to the IRC’s Global Headquarters departments. The HR Senior Manager reports to the Deputy Director, Global HQ HR and works closely with other members of the Global HQ Partners team and People & Culture department. This role will support the evaluation and editing of job descriptions, compensation recommendations, processing employee lifecycle events, and special projects to support 2,000+ Global Headquarters staff across over 40 countries around the world.
Major Responsibilities
Provide frontline support including and not limited to:
- Support the development of P&C strategy for Global HQ departments
- Lead on the evaluation of job descriptions for client groups to ensure position descriptions at all levels are written with diverse and inclusive language
- Make compensation recommendations for new hires and employees to ensure equitable pay across the department
- Serve as a reliable source of HR knowledge in response to employee and/or supervisor requests, ensuring compliance with IRC policies and procedures and applicable labor laws
- Facilitate resolution for escalated issues related to benefits, payroll, HRIS, Leaves of Absence, and general employee questions
- Provide review and approvals for job descriptions, position requests, and status changes
- Ensure exit processes are followed in a timely manner (Separation Forms, exit paperwork, exit surveys) and conduct exit interviews to inform turnover reports and analyses
- Ensure that HR data is collected, processed, analyzed and presented through different means for better decision making
- Support various initiatives across all the disciplines within P&C and special projects within the Global HQ Partners team to enrich IRC’s culture
- Provide backup support to Global HQ Partners team when needed.
- HR Technical Functions & HR Operations: Collaborate with teams in the planning and delivery of HR initiatives including opportunities for improvement around standard processes
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Working Relationships
Position Reports to: Deputy Director, Global HQ HR
Position works in collaboration with: Sr. HR Associate, HR Partners, HR Directors, HR Project & Delivery Manager, HQ clients; HR colleagues in Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management and Operations; Finance and other HQ teams.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration; or equivalent experience
Work Experience:
- At least 4-6 years of experience in an HR support function or Client Service role with outstanding capabilities in MS Excel. Experience in Workday or similar HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Employee Relations and/or Information Technology is a plus
- Experience in a large, global, matrixed organization and/or within a non-profit setting is a plus
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- In depth knowledge of HR concepts, and the ability to ramp quickly on new topics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record and fulfillment in operating with a client service approach, and building and fostering positive working relationships; highly resourceful
- High data analytics skills and ability to use basic data outputs to tell a high-level story
- Sensitive to and have a solid understanding of Gender Equality concepts and their impact on HR practices
- Self-motivated, ability to plan, prioritize and problem solve independently
- Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in working in a constantly evolving environment
- Ability to build and foster an effective and positive working relationships with colleagues and internal clients
- Outstanding capabilities in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience in Workday and applicant tracking systems a plus
- Ability and commitment to the highest ethical standards including maintaining the confidentiality
